Ministries

The ministries of the Mount Zion Church are evangelism, discipleship and missions. This three-fold ministry is in accordance with the Great Commission of Christ our risen Lord in Matthew 28.19, 20). The vision of ministry at Mount Zion is to glorify God, increase believers’ intimacy with Christ, enhance their excellence in worship and service and address their spiritual emptiness through an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Ministry

The Shepherd Helps Ministry monthly to partner with the pastor in prayer and in support of the ministry vision of the man of God. This ministry is designed to assist the pastor with in-reach and outreach efforts which are designed to address the spiritual emptiness of human lives through an eternal saving relationship with Christ.

The Ushers Ministry is designed to introduce people to an environment of cordiality, hospitality and pleasantness upon entering the auditorium to worship. They assist congregants assembled in getting seated and with any needs which present themselves during the worship experience. It is designed to provide an atmosphere where worshipers can increase their spiritual intimacy with Jesus Christ.

The Music Ministry is a vital aid in assisting the “flow” of worship and attracting the inclusiveness of worshipers while edifying them in song. This ministry in designed to help make those assembled, participants and not just spectators while worshipping; “making melody in their hearts through psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.” They are to enhance believers’ excellence in worship and service.

The Youth Ministry is designed to glorify God through total participation in the life of the congregation. Special training and emphasis days are included to spotlight their honoring of Christ through leading worship, bible study, praising, praying, singing, ushering and other activities of a spiritual and practical nature. The youth are trained to honor god, the authority of Scripture, their parents, teachers and their pastor and spiritual leaders thus increasing their intimacy with Christ in an attempt to reach their peers for the kingdom by addressing their spiritual emptiness by introducing them to Christ.

Discipleship Ministry  

Deacons are a biblical office in the church designed to support and assist the pastor and the ministry of providing aid to the widows and neglected of the church (Acts 6.1-7). They are perfected as other saints to the work of ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4. 12).

The Church school in an educational arm of the discipleship ministry designed to promote Christian education which equips the saints for the work of the ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4.12). It is intended to bring biblical, expositional, spiritual and practical information to congregants of all age categories in order to inspire them to development, maturation and growth in the Lord in accordance with increasing their intimacy with Christ through his word.

The Mighty Men of Valor is the laymen’s ministry of Mount Zion which meets monthly for bible study centered on a biblical, expositional, spiritual and practical instruction by our senior pastor in a facilitated format. This ministry is designed to equip and empower men/males to commit themselves to their biblical roles of leadership and authority in the church and home as well as in the community.

The Titus Two Ministries is designed to be a gender and generational specific ministry, which teaches the biblical roles of males and females in accordance with the sound doctrine mentioned in Titus 2.1. It culminates with the annual Titus Two Church Conference designed to emphasize these principles and allow them to become the practices of our church in theory and lifestyle.

Mission Ministry  

The Mission is a circle of believers that meets twice monthly to help facilitate and encourage the carrying out of the Great Commission in (Matthew 28 19,20) by using resources for outreach ministry and engaging the church in such ministry. They use bible study guides and outlines to assure the Word of God is the emphasis of all community and social ministry both domestic and international. They visit the sick and shut-in as well as minister through a telephone and card ministry to that sick and/or experiencing grief due to death in their families.

The Trustee Ministry is formed to meet the requirements of the state of Ohio and assists in following through with fiscal and financial matters of the church under the auspices of the vision and direction of the church. They are primarily responsible for the maintenance of the temporal church campus and matters associated with such as well as the managing of the financing regarded as necessary for such matters. They minister through the monetary directives of scripture about being faithful as stewards (1 Corinthians 4. 12).

The Mothers and Deaconess Ministry assists in the preparation for the observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They prepare female candidates for water baptism and the elements of the bread and cup for the observance of eating the Lords supper.

The Nurses Minister to congregants and the pastor/ministers by providing care necessary during the worship experience. They are trained in CPR and Church Nursing procedures. Theirs is a ministry of compassion and care.

The Children band is the ministry provided for the children to train them in spiritual and biblical knowledge on their level of understanding. They are also encouraged to participate in the church activities and particularly Sunday Church School on a regular basis.
